Teaching Statement
Isaac Newton famously said, "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." My personal giants are the many inspiring teachers whose mentorship influenced my development as a musician, shaped my character, and built my discipline. When I think about these role models, I am most impressed not just by their vast knowledge but also by the grace, integrity, and genuine care they showed to those around them.
This serves as the foundation I aim to create for my students. I want them to leave my studio with a strong belief in their own potential and the confidence to pursue their goals. I seek to teach them the importance of honest self-assessment and humility, which are keys to growth, as well as the importance of grace—to themselves during challenges and to others during differences.
Most importantly, I want my students to realize that nothing is more vital to long-term success than consistent, purposeful practice and perseverance. These habits cultivate more profound musicianship, stronger character, and true artistry.
